Jessica Hahnlen is a contemporary watercolor painter who lives and works in Juneau, Alaska. After growing up in Juneau, leaving for 8 years, then making her way back home, she has grown an incredible fondness for, and her paintings pay homage to, the creatures of Alaska. Her distinctive personal style captures the complexities and personalities of these animals and the short moments shared when you encounter them. Although Jessica majored in Studio Arts at the University of Puget Sound, she is a self-taught watercolorist who didn’t discover her love of the medium until 2015.
When she isn't working a new watercolor piece, she can be found working from her home silkscreening studio, printing pieces for her small business, Frost + Fur, or out on her partner's gillnetting boat.
